CAF-DND sexual misconduct class action settlement

Are you one of the following?

  1. Current or former employee of the Department of National Defence
  2. Current or former employee of the Non-Public Funds, Canadian Armed Forces 
  3. Current or former servicer member of the Canadian Armed Forces

If so, you have until November 24, 2021, to submit a claim as part of the CAF-DND sexual misconduct class action settlement.

Sexual misconduct is defined as:  

  1. Sexual harassment;
  2. Sexual assault; and/or
  3. Discrimination on the grounds of sex, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation.

Anyone who believes they have a claim must apply before November 24, 2021. 

Note that eligibility applies to current and former employees and members of the Canadian Armed Forces and will include those who have transferred to other positions within and outside of the federal public service. 

If you have questions about whether the conduct that you experienced during your service or employment is covered by the settlement, or to learn more about the settlement and submit a claim, visit the class action website or call 1-888-626-2611. If you need legal advice concerning a possible claim in the settlement, you are entitled to receive it free of charge from class counsel as part of the settlement. Contact information for class counsel across Canada is on the class action website.
