Government of Nunavut Bargaining Update: Ratification Vote Dates

• Your Bargaining Team has reached a tentative agreement with the Employer for 3,000+ members of the Government of Nunavut bargaining unit.
• You are invited to accept or reject the tentative agreement. Your Bargaining Team is recommending acceptance of the contract.
• PSAC and/or a Bargaining Team member will provide additional details of the agreement at upcoming information sessions held virtually and in communities.
• To ensure members are fully informed before casting their ballot, the PSAC Constitution requires all members to attend an information session before voting on a new collective agreement. These presentations allow members to cast their ballot once the presentation is over. Members will also have the opportunity to stay online after the presentations to ask questions about the content of the tentative agreement.
• In order to vote, you must be a Member in Good Standing. This means you must have signed a union membership card. Please bring your union membership card. If you don’t have a card, Members can sign up for one at an information session.
• The Union has an agreement with the Employer that members can attend these meetings during work hours.
• Final results of the ratification will be posted to the PSAC North and NEU once all voting has concluded.
• This is an important opportunity to ensure that the results truly reflect the wishes of members in this bargaining unit. It’s your collective agreement — come out and vote!

In-Person Voting

Information and voting sessions will be held in communities across the territory as we endeavour to meet as many members in person as possible. Members will receive information via email as details for their communities are confirmed. Keep an eye on this web page for up-to-date information. Some meetings have had to be cancelled due to flight cancellations or a lack of hotel and meeting room availability. These meetings will be rescheduled when possible; however, members are encouraged to join online ratification meetings. More information on virtual voting can be found further below on this page.

Online Voting

To ensure all eligible members have the opportunity to vote, virtual ratification meetings will be held for members unable to attend in-person sessions. Eight online information sessions will be held, with an online voting period open from November 18 at 1:30 PM to December 3 at 7:30 PM Eastern Time. Members will receive information on registering to vote online via their personal email, or may click on a link below to register. If we do not have your personal email address, you can provide it by emailing the information to PSACNorth@psac-afpc.com with “GN Ratification Email Address” in the subject line, or by phoning 867-873-5670.
