Yukon Pride Committee
The PSAC Yukon Pride Committee focuses on issues affecting 2SLGBTQIA+ (Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Indigiqueer, Asexual, Pansexual) community members in the workplace and the Union.
Some of our work is focused on reviewing, discussing and making recommendations on issues, policies, strategies and initiatives that affect 2SLGBTQIA+ members.
Here’s some of what we will be doing, and some of what we’ve already done:
- Supporting our allies
- Organizing our own Pride Committee events
- Making recommendations on 2SLGBTQIA+ issues, policies, strategies and initiatives
- Identifying discriminatory legislation, provisions or practices and recommending actions that will end them.
Meetings are open to all PSAC members in good standing in the Yukon who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Our Mandate
The objectives of the PSAC North Yukon Pride Committee are to identify, promote, and assist union actions affecting Racialized members by:
- Educating, politicizing, and mobilizing 2SLGBTQIA+ members by making links between themselves, the union, the workplace and the community.
- Empowering, uniting and engaging 2SLGBTQIA+ members to take action and move the Human Rights Agenda forward.
- Encouraging networking and open communication among 2SLGBTQIA+ members, the PSAC National Human Rights Committee and other PSAC National/Regional bodies.
