Yukon Indigenous Peoples’ Circle

The PSAC Yukon Indigenous Peoples’ Circle focuses on issues affecting Indigenous members in the workplace and the Union.

Some of our work is focused on reviewing, discussing and making recommendations on issues, policies, strategies and initiatives that affect Indigenous Peoples.

We also keep our eye on legislation, provisions or practices that are discriminatory and recommend union policies, programs or actions that will end and redress the discrimination and racism.

Meetings are open to all PSAC members in good standing in the Yukon who are Indigenous.

Our Mandate

The objectives of the PSAC North Yukon Indigenous Peoples’ Circle are to identify, promote, and assist union actions affecting Indigenous members by:

  • Educating, politicizing, and mobilizing Indigenous members by making links between themselves, the union, the workplace and the community.
  • Empowering, uniting and engaging Indigenous members to take action and move the Human Rights Agenda forward.
  • Encouraging networking and open communication among Indigenous members, the PSAC National Human Rights Committee and other PSAC National/Regional bodies.

Making a Difference

Activists are the heart of our union and your involvement will help the labour movement thrive. If you want to play an integral role in guiding your union, consider getting involved with a Regional Committee and bringing your ideas to an upcoming meeting.
