PSAC North Yukon Regional Women’s Committee donated 20 starter baskets to women’s shelters in Dawson City and Watson Lake in November 2022. 50 baskets were delivered in total, with 30 donated to women’s shelters in Whitehorse.
PSAC North Yukon Regional Women’s Committee would like to thank:
- Canadian Tire, Whitehorse for donating paper products and ordering many items at their best sale price.
- Superstore team in Whitehorse for ordering in all of the pots and pans and providing a donation.
- The Great Canadian Dollar Store, and their team who made a special order to get items delivered on time.
- Dollarama, who allowed committee members to shop from their available products.
The committee would like to thank Yukon Employees Union for use of their facilities for storage and packing, and special thanks to YEU VP Tony Thomas for delivering baskets to Dawson shelter, and to PSAC Regional Representative Josh Paddon who delivered baskets to Watson Lake shelter.
