Learn About Your Agreement and Have Your Say!
PSAC/UNW have reached tentative first collective agreements with the Employer for workers at Home Base Yellowknife and Foster Family Coalition.
The Bargaining Team is unanimously recommending ACCEPTANCE of the tentative agreements.
We will be conducting vote sessions on December 9th, 10th, and 11th to discuss what improvements have been won, to take your questions, and to cast your secret ballot.
You can vote to ACCEPT your tentative agreement, or you can vote to reject your tentative agreement.
ALL UNIONIZED EMPLOYEES should attend one of these sessions.
Please note that the sessions are separated based on Employer since there will be two different collective agreements. You can only attend a session which corresponds to your Employer.
The Employer has agreed to help with attendance at the sessions. Let your supervisor/manager know in advance if you cannot make any of these voting times owing to work; they will find a way to accommodate you.
These are first collective agreements, agreed to by both the Employer and the Union Bargaining Teams. They will ensure that employees’ workplace rights are clear and understood by all involved, building a stronger workplace and improving access to all the benefits of working in a unionized environment. These deals contain a variety of protections and benefits, including:
- Access to grievance arbitration concerning discipline/discharge
- A formalized complaints process with clear recourse.
- Enforceable protections and representation around health and safety, and discrimination
- Access to union education
To stay up to date, if the Union does not have your personal email address, you can provide it by emailing PSAC North Regional Representative Vishwaamithran Ramakrishnan.
