PSAC/UNW members have voted to ratify their first collective agreements with the Employer for workers at Home Base Yellowknife and Foster Family Coalition.
These are first collective agreements, agreed to by both the Employer and the Union Bargaining Teams. They will ensure that employees’ workplace rights are clear and understood by all involved, building a stronger workplace and improving access to all the benefits of working in a unionized environment. These deals contain a variety of protections and benefits, including:
- Access to grievance arbitration concerning discipline/discharge
- A formalized complaints process with clear recourse.
- Enforceable protections and representation around health and safety, and discrimination
- Access to union education
