Your Union bargaining team is in mediation in Iqaluit this week with the Government of Nunavut negotiating committee.
The parties agreed voluntarily to enlist the services of a mediator to assist them in trying to reach a new collective agreement by early fall.
The mediator is veteran labour arbitrator Lorne Slotnick who has worked as a labour arbitrator, mediator and human rights adjudicator for more than two decades.
Although the parties made good progress in negotiations at the last bargaining session in June, a number of difficult issues remain on the table.
