Are you looking for opportunities to get involved with your Union?
The Advocacy and Representation on Workplace Racism course is designed to equip Stewards, Local Officers, and Union Representatives with the skills and competencies to represent and advocate for Indigenous, Black, Asian, and other racialized PSAC members in racial discrimination cases with an intersectional and anti-oppression lens.
When: November 30 – December 1, 2024, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Where: PSAC Iqaluit Regional Office – 204-507 Astro Hill Terrace, Iqaluit NU
Registration Deadline: November 12, 2:00 PM
Participants must have prior grievance handling or anti-racism advocacy experience or education before enrollment.
Participants will learn:
- To address workplace racism and discrimination
- Tools to intervene effectively in racial discrimination cases
- How to support and advocate for members who experience racism
- Much more!
Participants will be entitled to actual loss of salary as determined by their normal working hours, and their travel requirements.
