City of Yellowknife – MED Bargaining Update: Tentative Collective Agreement Ratified

On October 6th, 2025 PSAC/UNW members working at the City of Yellowknife as Municipal Enforcement Officers ratified the tentative collective agreement with an overwhelming majority.

As a reminder, the following gains were made in this round of bargaining:

  • Wage gains of 16.5% over four years, well exceeding inflation.
  • An increase to evening shift premiums.
  • A commitment to a reclassification processs for Municipal Enforcement Officers designed to ensure you are paid appropriately for the work you do.
  • An increase in paternity leave top up from 10 to 15 weeks.
  • Improvements in the definition of family.
  • Improved casual leave
  • Improved boot allowance for MEO IIs and IIIs

The support you provided your Bargaining Team and the outreach you did in the community played a large role in the successes achieved at the table. A further update will be provided once the Union receives notice that the City Council has ratified the agreement for the Employer.

In solidarity,

Your Bargaining Team
