Whitehorse Child Care Rally During Harper Visit

August 18, 2006

Yukon activists gathered in support of the Yukon Child Care Association Wednesday August 16th outside the High Country Inn in Whitehorse to demonstrate to Prime Minister Stephen Harper the importance of a National Child Care system that is affordable and accessible to all Canadians.

Although Harper avoided the demonstrators by slipping in through a back door of the High Country Inn, morale was high at the demo site.

Talking Union Basics Course

November 7, 2005

An extra Talking Union Basics (TUB) course was added to the Whitehorse area. It took place on Nov 5th & 6th, facilitated by Nancy Debreceni (A/Regional Rep) and co-facilitated by Diane Allen (Alliance Facilitator). We had 15 members attend the course.
