At Public Service Alliance of Canada North, we began working on a campaign at the beginning of the year calling for all northern territories to increase minimum wage to $15/hr per hour.

However, according to several recent findings and reports, the current and proposed minimum wage does not cover the cost of living in the north. With new information, we have decided to increase that figure to a Living Wage.

PSAC will be offering webinars for members who volunteered to be Pay Advocates on how to address common problems with Phoenix.

Thanks for all participants. In appreciation for your time, anyone who completed the PSAC North education survey, and provided their name and contact information was entered into a draw for a $100 cash prize. There were two draws per territory. The lucky winners are:

John Mercado, Rankin Inlet

Basja Ellsworth, Iqaluit

Sarah Hyden, Behchoko

Liesbeth Van Blarikom, Yellowknife

Deborah Wren, Whitehorse

Luc Laferté, Whitehorse
